Walrus Wheelie Bin Bracket

An elegant solution

 to stop your bins

from blowing over

Why Choose Us?

When our local authority announced the introduction of wheelie bins for every household there was an uproar. My home is in the Shetland Islands, the windiest county in the UK. Locals knew the bins would not be safe from the windy conditions, but I had a solution. I had experience from the 90s and 00s rush to get satellite TV, the brackets that came with the satellite dishes did not hold up to coastal weather for long. I, and some colleagues, designed and built a HOT DIP GALVANISED stronger bracket, and I believe every one of the 1000s made is still doing its job perfectly. Galvanising lasts for years, decades in fact, centuries in some inland areas! So, the fit-it-once-and-forget-it solution for a wheelie bin minder had to be galvanised. Some prototyping and testing later and a really simple to use product emerged. My son, who was about 8 at the time, reckoned the downward facing hooks looked like Walrus tusks, so that's the name. Now selling online everywhere, I'm hopeful this new website will streamline the customer experience.

HOT NEWS - I am now using Stainless Steel for my Walrus Brackets! The same Stainless Steel as SpaceX uses in its newest StarShip spacecraft. This will alter the weight of the finished product, so I may be able to send more in the same parcel. As of 10th August 2024 I have SOLD OUT of W10 Walrus Brackets, but the next batch are in production and will be available very soon.

UPDATE: New Stainless Steel W10 brackets now in stock. Same quality, same longevity, same price, but an improved product.

Here are bins and brackets after Storm Otto did it’s worst. They worked perfectly. Thank you.

About Us

Gordon Simpson

Walrus Wheelie Bin Bracket Creator

I am dedicated to providing a product that will last. The Walrus Wheelie Bin Bracket with its galvanised protective coating means it will need no maintenance during its lifetime. It's lifetime is long too, we live right on the coast and it will last 34 years here, some customers from the Midlands will get 170 years out of their Walrus Brackets. These numbers sound both awesome and incredible, how can these be guaranteed? Well, I quote them from the Galvaniser's Association UK, who's website www.galvanizing.org.uk/corrosion/corrosion-map/

lets anyone (in the UK) enter their location and see for themselves how good the protection is.

Location

I don't have a physical shop, only selling online. However, my friends Callum and Kane's shop 'Lerwick DIY' keeps a good stock of Walrus Wheelie Bin Brackets and will gladly sell you them. So, it's their shop on the map.
